Osprey packs are made from high quality materials and incorporate features and technical mechanisms not found in the majority of mass produced backpacks. All of these packs incorporate a seperate pack either within the frame or outside of the external large pack that holds roughly five liters: a small travel bag that can be used in conjunction with the main pack, as either an ascension pack or day tripping pack while the larger pack is stowed.

Rossignol
Rossignol Carbon x-ium boots are light, strong and made with a piece of carbon in the sole of the boot and vertically across the ankle. The cuff is adjustable and pivots from an asymmetrically located attachment point on the ankle. NNN bindings are made with a 5mm recessed binding pin, rather than the standard 3mm recession used by Salomon and Fischer. The advantage of this makes the pilot series obsolete. Rossignol and NNN boots fit wider feet, and are a great deal.
